An opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice to work alongside the Pharmacist and other experienced healthcare staff to obtain a professional qualification and earn a wage. Level 2 will attend college one day a month and Level 3 will be attending college one day a week. Inspire Middlesex College is working in partnership with Hackney Community College. .
The Pharmacy Apprentice will be performing the following duties:
• Taking in and handing out prescriptions
• Using computer systems to generate stock lists and labels
• Ordering items
• Receiving, loading, unloading deliveries
• Selling over-the-counter medicines
• Answering customers questions face to face or by phone
• Referring problems or queries to the pharmacist
• Advising patients about medication
Qualifications Required:
Level 2 Qualification Requirement: If possible 3 GCSE's
Level 3 Qualification Requirement : 3 GCSE's (Maths, English & Science) or equivalent. If requires, we offer Functional Skills in Maths & English.
Expected Training Duration:
12-18 months.
Future Prospects:
You can work in a variety of settings such as a community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy or in a pharmaceutical industry. There is currently a high demand for Pharmacy Technicians with salaries starting from £22,000 and continuing to progress to more than £50,000 as a Senior Pharmacy Technician.
