Who we are
African Destinations4u is a company registered in the UK with the purpose of arranging and executing all types of travel to Africa. African Destinations4u works with key suppliers in Africa that provide high quality ground arrangements African Destinations4U is looking for a student intern or a retiree with a knowledge and understanding of the tourism industry. You will need the necessary website skills to assist in preparing our new website for its launch and managing it when it goes “live”
We also need you to market and promote products through the website and other social media
This work will be perfect for a person who is imaginative and creative in their approach to tourism. It will suit someone desiring a “virtual” world experience, with an opportunity to develop this new role. There will also be some face to face marketing, by representing African Destinations4Uat International Travel Trade Fairs
The main focus of this work will be to:
- Assist in the launch of our new website by editing and uploading information
- Manage and market all African Destinations4U products on the website and other social media
- Set up contracts and develop relationships with suppliers Ensure all information is up to date and ongoing; especially prices and special offers
- Assist in creating and writing a travel blog
- Be our “virtual” in-house roving reporter; being pro active in asking the team and customers for “news and views” Assist in writing a newsletter or other marketing tools for ongoing promotion
- Keep the flow of information on the website and other social media moving
- Represent African Destinations4U in a positive professional and personable manner
We will be looking at your CV for following competencies:
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
- A knowledge and understanding of the tourism industry
SKILLS REQUIRED
IT
- Computer literate, Website administration and social media savvy
Organisation
- Ability to work to launch the website
- Able to work independently
- Ability to work to and reach deadlines to “get the job done”
Communication
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to use Publishing tools for the newsletter; such as Monkey Press or other
- Be pro active in keeping in contact with the team
Personal Profile
- Creative and imaginative ways of thinking in terms of travel promotion
- A confidence to represent us at various International Travel Trade fairs
- A positive approach to work and customer service
- A quick response to customer and other queries
- Ability to remain focused on the tasks required
Marketing
- Some previous marketing training or interest is desirable
- Ability to be creative in marketing and selling products
- Ability to Research current trends in tourism
General Administrative
- Manage paid orders and contact suppliers to execute all trips effectively
- Keep an ongoing record of the tasks you have achieved
Resources
- Must have access to your own IT tools and Wifi
