50pixels is looking for a student to work alongside our CTO on innovative web and mobile applications as a work placement for a period of ideally 6 months.
This is the opportunity you're looking for if you're interested in web and mobile apps and want to learn not only how to code, but also about all aspects of entrepreneurship and building apps. If you've ever thought about starting your own tech company, come and see how it's done.
The chosen candidate will have the chance to build new web and mobile products as well as work on challenging client projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a student or recent graduate to improve their programming skills while experiencing work in a young startup.
50pixels is based in Clerkenwell Workshops, close to Farringdon, an innovative co-working space that offers a busy events calendar and great networking opportunities in the digital space.
While this is an unpaid work placement, we'll reimburse expenses and pay for your participation to networking events and conferences.
Responsibilities:
• Write HTML, CSS and Javascript for new and existing projects
• Assist in development of iOS and Android mobile apps
• Assist in writing and maintaining project documentation
Experience in these are a plus:
• SQL database management
• Interest in design and UI/UX
• Knowledge of web hosting software and server management
• Ruby on Rails web development
• Objective C and iOS framework
• Other languages and frameworks (PHP, Java, REST, Facebook APIs )
