You don't need any qualifications, and you'll be supervised, but if you wish to work in the sector for longer it helps to get CRB check; most employers will arrange for it free of charge. You must also speak a reasable standard of English, but other languages can be useful due to the diverse range of young children currently in daycare from different nations.

If you wish to work fewer hours but earn more per hour, consider auxiliary nursery jobs such as cook or cleaner, typically required between 2 - 6 hours per day.  Cleaning is suitable 6th form students because it usually takes place early evening.
