FREE BELARUS NOW SOCIAL MEDIA INTERN
Free Belarus Now is seeking a social media intern to help raise awareness of the situation in Belarus through a range of online avenues. FBN believes that positive, democratic change will come to Belarus through a mix of internal and external pressure, for which a positive and consistent online presence is key.
This role would suit someone who is a current student or recent graduate looking to expand their C.V. with an interest in developing a career in the Third Sector. You will have a strong interest, knowledge of and preferably some experience in online media as well as some basic understanding of communications. As part of small team you will need to be self motivated and comfortable working both individually as well as part of a team. We’re looking for someone with an enthusiastic and clever Twitter / Facebook voice and a passion for spreading the Free Belarus Now message across different social media platforms.
In the short time we have been set up we have achieved constructive and notably progressive steps to change to the lives of the people of Belarus. We are looking for someone who will take full advantage of the career development and the amazing opportunity to directly impact the human rights of people in Belarus which this role can offer.

You will need to be able to commit to fortnightly meetings in central London.

What you will do
- Raise awareness of the situation in Belarus through social media, using events organised by FBN
- Regularly update social media channels – Facebook & Twitter
- Work closely with the Events Coordinator to maximise the effectiveness of events
- Monitor online discussions, taking part in conversations and spreading the word of Free Belarus Now
- Increase the social media following for Free Belarus Now
- Use the latest social media tools to monitor the development of Free Belarus Now on social media
- Research and develop ways to improve engagement and expand support base
- Participate in creative communication and campaign brainstorming
You will need to be able to commit to fortnightly meetings in central London.
Skills we are looking for
- Strong written communication skills
- The ability to make connections in online settings, drawing interest and energy to the campaign
- Experience in social media and/or blogging
- An interest in human rights
- Must be enthusiastic, reliable and self driven
