PA required for Tuesday evenings and nights to support active, independent disabled person. Experience not necessary and students welcome.
I am an active, independent disabled person and I require male PA/support workers, whom I will employ directly, to assist me in my day to day living, which includes providing personal and domestic care support to me at home, and in my place of employment. The role involves domestic and simple care duties, while also assisting me with mobility (I am a powered wheelchair user).
A driving license is not necessary, nor is experience of support work and I do not require you to have formal qualifications in care work, though you should of course have a caring disposition, good communication skills, and a persona suited to this area of work.
The job may suit a number of people including students, those without or with experience of support work, those wishing to enter the field, supplement their income, and so on. Really, I am quite open as to who I employ, as long as they demonstrate appropriate characteristics and a positive attitude to disabled people.
Hours: I have an evening and overnight shift available on a Tuesday. The shift runs from 6pm to approx 8am the next morning, overnight sleeps are included.
A full evening and overnight shift pays £112.00
Wages: The rate of pay is £12.00 per waking hour, usually 6 hrs (irrespective of whether you are over or under 25 yrs of age), and £40 flat rate for the night sleepover.
You should have good interpersonal skills and be able to speak English fluently. You should be able to provide the details of people who can act as referees prior to interview.
Also, you should be prepared to undergo a DBS check (enhanced disclosure), the outcome of which will determine your suitability for employment.
