Electrical Maintenance Apprentice

We have a genuinely fantastic opportunity for several well motivated and committed individuals to join us as Apprentice Electricians on a 4 year programme of vocational training, study and work that could lead to you ultimately qualifying as a multi-skilled fitter and earning up to £30,000!

This is a unique opening in the NHS to earn while you learn and gain promotion as you develop and apply new learning in the workplace.

Successful candidates will earn between £18,813 - £20,797 pro rata on appointment depending on previous NHS experience and skills. On successful completion of the relevant assessments at the mid point of the apprenticeship and satisfactory performance, individuals will gain promotion and earn between £21,089 - £23,761 pro rata. On completion of the full apprenticeship, you will then be eligible to apply for a multi-skilled fitter position with a starting salary of £24,214 rising to £30,112 (pro rata) with experience.

What are the requirements?

It is desirable that candidates hold GCSE maths & English at grade 4 /C or above (or equivalent including maths and English functional skills level 2) to apply. Those interested will need to demonstrate a commitment to learning, working for the NHS and completing an extended period of college education and on-job training. We are looking for a long term desire to work in a hospital healthcare estates/maintenance setting.

Apprenticeship funding rules require applicants to have lived within the European Economic Area for at least the last three years and have no restrictions on access to public funding.

The post holder will work across a 24 hour / 7 day shift pattern and to comply with HSE guidance on young person’s in the workplace, applicants are required to be at least 18 years old.

What Next?

Candidates will also be required to complete maths and English assessments and demonstrate sufficient competence to allow them to complete the pre-requisite functional skills prior to completing the apprenticeship.
