Rethink Mental Illness is a charity that believes a better life is possible for millions of people affected by mental illness. For 40 years we have brought people together to support each other. We run services and support groups that change people’s lives and challenge attitudes about mental illness.
Our Co-production team helps deliver, evaluate and improve services through involving teams of volunteers who are 'experts-by experience' in mental health. Step-Up focuses on University students in London.
Step Up provides practical support and skills development, through session based programmes tailored to meet young people’s needs and enable individuals to self manage their own mental health. The programme is co-produced and delivered by both Rethink, and Champions at their respective institutions.
As the officer, you will support the project manager on the planning, implementation, development and evaluation of this exciting project. You will have responsibility for working with volunteers with lived experience to plan, develop and co-deliver high quality training.
You will be passionate about student wellbeing, and have a solid understanding of co-production. You will also need to understand and be aligned with the values and wider work of the Mental Health Promotion team and Rethink Mental Illness.
This is a fixed term contract of 15 hours per week, for 9 months. The post covers the academic teaching year (October - June) and would be perfect for a current or recent student or someone who works within a higher education setting. Applicants who are international students, LGBTQ+, people with a disability, with lived experience of mental illness, or who are BAME are actively encouraged to apply.
