Care Assistant - Cambridge - part-time

We are recruiting for a Care and Well-being Assistant to support an individual with learning disabilities in his home environment, alongside his current care team. The care hours can be flexible, over the week or weekend.

5 - 35 hours per week
£9.00 Per Hour

What are you going to do:

  • In Arbury, North Cambridge
  • Start date: as of 2nd September 2019
  • Hours: We are particularly recruiting for weekend staff for Saturday and/or Sunday: morning or evening, or full day 10am to 8pm.
  • Flexible weekday shifts: from 9.30am to 3pm or 5pm.
  • Afternoon shifts 3pm to 5pm (applicants with a driving licence to help the client access the local community)
  • Our service offers to build a Christian community around the people we support, if they so choose. An openness to be part of such a community would be welcome.

We are building a care team to support and grow into a joyful, community with the people they support!

You will be supporting a 42-year old individual who has a very peaceful, kind and joyful countenance. He is a wheelchair user, does not communicate verbally and needs help with daily tasks of living. He loves seeing his family, going out for walks, to church on Sundays, and to activity groups during the week (swimming, bowling, trampolining, music therapy), and just watching the world around him in someone’s company. If you enjoy a cup of tea, listening to music, swimming and watching the birds in the trees: he will be a good companion!

Does this sound like an opportunity for you? Please get in touch to learn more about the role and our people.

What we offer:

  • We offer you the opportunity to gain recognised qualifications (e.g. Care Certificate), and to engage in your own continuing development.
  • We offer you the opportunity to enjoy all their social and leisure activities together with them. The individual we are recruiting for has a wonderful sense of fun and laughter, and we would love for you to get to know them.
  • We offer you person-centred training, so you will be able to get to know the person you will be supporting and how you can support them in the best way.
