What are you going to do:
We're The Urban Fermentery and we make award-winning fermented foods, fantastic kimchis and 'pain in the ass' hot sauces! We’ve been growing rapidly and are now looking for Marketing & Sales intern to join us on this quest. The Urban Fermentery would be a perfect place for anyone who wants to see how startups are being built from scratch and have a real impact!
This post is initially for a 3 month intern - however, if the candidate is successful and the position works for both sides, we would be very happy to extend the placement.
Start Date: as soon as possible, part-time or full-time (To be negotiated).
Key Responsibilities
Marketing:
- Work together with the Founder to manage events, pop-ups and workshops.
- Manage owned social media channels and digital platforms. An opportunity to apply digital marketing skills and optimisation tools.
- Identify and manage brand partnerships, competitions.
- To work closely with the CEO to embrace the creative direction of the brand and deliver strategies to support identity and consistency throughout all marketing channels.
- Create & edit marketing assets.
Sales:
- Assist the Founder in developing and nurturing relationships with distributors and customers.
- Identify potential business opportunities with new or existing customers, build sales & visibility opportunities across both retail & food service.
- Help with sampling at our retailer partner's locations and events.
- Consider & focus on accounts that can deliver volume & visibility – set about ensuring we are supporting these accounts with activations.
- Visit some of our retail partners to make sure we're looking great in store!
The Perfect Candidate:
- Social media knowledge and understanding
- A self-starter who can learn new things quickly
- Interest in food trends and sustainability
- Photoshop and/or video editing skills would be an advantage
- Ability to multi-task and think on feet
- Eager to travel (within the UK or further!)
- Excellent communication skills
- Desire to learn and work for a start-up
- Polish language would be an advantage (key suppliers are based in Poland).
