Job Description

Main Duties

  • QHSE - Supervisors act as quality control, ensuring customer satisfaction through training employees properly and adhering to company policy.             

  • QHSE - Follows the Company’s QHSE procedures within the course of the role and performs duties within the guidelines at all times.  

  • QHSE - Ensures complaints from patients and staff are dealt with promptly and appropriately, escalating as necessary.Resolves operational issues and escalates to appropriate persons.             

  • QHSE - Brings to the attention of the line manager any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that pose danger or risks to health and safety.       

  • Operational - Offers support to Service, this is a working Supervisor role that requires attendance on the floors, monitoring and mentoring the Team.         

  • Operational - Has a sound working knowledge of tasks and response times as set out in the Service Level Agreement. Understands specification for each area. Sets and maintains exceptional standards.             

  • Leadership - Supervises, encourages and supports employees, ensures company standards are met. Directs the employees through their daily routines and interacts with customers ensuring they have an exceptional experience.              

  • Leadership - Conducts meaningful daily briefings with team. Provides line management and professional advice in line with prevailing standards          

  • Interpersonal - Works closely with hospital staff and teams.        

  • Interpersonal - Supplies timely and accurate feedback to all client and customer queries.             
  • QHSE - Reports any potential service level failure immediately to the Line Manager.  

  • Operational - Undertakes additional duties in line with capabilities as required. May be required to participate in the first response to Fire, Major incident and Cardiac arrests         

  • Operational - Monitors and adjusts resource for the department to ensure the needs of the hospital are met in conjunction with peaks in demand and that labour is in line with the hours for the service.

  • Operational - Implements controls and measures to ensure all service levels are achieved across all areas.       

  • Operational - Ensures provision of sufficient team members, stock, and materials for each area of responsibility.             

  • Operational - Ensures all local client guidelines regarding operation, health and safety and other business areas are followed by Team members at all times.   

  • Leadership - Manages absence for the service ensuring return to work interviews are being completed, absence levels are tracked and the absence management process is being followed.             

  • Leadership - Ensures that contractual operational hours are achieved across all areas of responsibility at all times.

  • Leadership - Ensures staff in area of responsibility are appropriately trained. Ensures that training records are updated for all team members.         

  • Leadership - Ensures specified lines of communication are followed at all times, with particular attention to escalation and problem reporting.          

  • Leadership - Ensures effective methods of managing holiday bookings, ensuring all entitlement is booked by all staff, and operational cover is maintained.      

  • Leadership - Ensures company procedures regarding sickness are followed at all times, with correct documentation completed and distributed as necessary.             

Qualifications
  • QHSE - Works safely at all times giving due consideration for the safety of others and the environment.

  • QHSE - Some bending / stretching / heavy lifting required.

Additional Information

Health and Safety responsibilities

  •  Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times;
  •  Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment;
  • Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received;
  • Report any issues or training needs to your  Line manager and /or  via your divisional incident reporting system;

Information Security 

  • Ensure compliance with Mitie's information security procedures in all activities;
  • Proactively identify and report security risks to your manager;
  • Report actual and suspected security incidents;
