Job description

Full Stack Node Developer - Start-up - London - Perm - £70k + options

AWS / Docker / Information Security / Active Directory / JavaScript / Node.js

My client officially launched late last year, and the growth has been overwhelmingly positive since with some serious innovation underway. The team is proactive, positive and supportive, and is excited by challenge and innovation. They are also growing fast, now with ten developers and a product/UI/UX team.

This business is producing a very exciting browser-based platform that converts any audio or video file to text in a matter of minutes. An interactive editor then marries audio to the text, making it easy to search and polish transcripts to perfection; along with a multitude of different features and benefits.

So much to be built, still in Greenfield stage with awesome tech, my client needs a Full Stack Developer ASAP to join the team as it launches Enterprise and a feature roadmap chock-a-block with ground-breaking innovation.

You will not get bored! Here is why; A typical day begins with a daily stand up where the team will provide quick status updates to one another, taking up to about 15 minutes. Following that, everyone works in a largely self-directed manner by picking up issues from the GitHub-based backlog. This could be anything from fixing an urgent bug to working on a small feature to contributing to a larger project due for release over a longer period of time. One should also expect to be participating in code reviews, architectural/SW design discussions and general collaboration throughout the day.

Specifically, over the next few months you will be building new teams, projects, permissions management, and collaborate capabilities in the editor, new integrations with video platforms such as YouTube and Vimeo, and a bespoke mobile app. On top of this, you will be migrating some of the back end infrastructure to Kubernetes.

You will be self-motivated with really high standards, excited by innovation and looking to embrace an environment that offers a real opportunity for continuous learning and growth. You will be part of a team in the midst of a market-moving product launch.

AWS and Docker experience is a must for this role, there is significant scope, based on ones passion to learn, to gain great experience across the below as this role will sit closely with the VP of engineering, an advocate and highly talented Enterprise Engineer.

Skills required:
-Amazon Web Services
-Docker
-Strong JavaScript skills (ES5/6 and some 7)
-High knowledge of a modern back-end programming language
-Identify management platforms, e.g. Auth0
-Integration with directory series such as Active Directory
-Implementation and documentation of RESTful APIs
-Highest standard of communication skills

Skills desired:
-Node.js
-Familiarity with Continuous Integration
-Information security implementation
-Experience of working for SaaS start up

This role offers a casual but motivated environment, one should have a solid work ethic and be flexible in approach, as well as being comfortable working collaboratively with a great team which will be dedicated to developing ones knowledge and skill sets to meet ones career aspirations.
