West Midlands Ambulance Service University NHS Foundation Trust is renowned for its Student Paramedic training programme and since its initial inception in 2010, we have successfully recruited over 1500 people into the role.

We are now looking to build up a pool of candidates on the reserve list for our upcoming courses throughout 2020.

This exciting opportunity will enable successful applicants to be substantively employed by the Trust completing recognised qualifications via our Training Academy and one of our partner Higher Educational Institutions. In addition to this Student Paramedics will follow a trailblazer apprenticeship programme and complete this as an additional qualification.

Applicants must hold their Full C1 at least 1 week prior to their start date. The Trust may be able to offer financial support to complete your category C1 driver training. Reimbursement of any financial support for your C1 training will then be required to be paid back via monthly deductions from your salary over a 12 month period.

Further information on the assessment process, training programme and salary information can be found in the application support pack which is attached and available on the Trust’s website.

Assessment days will take place over the coming months where shortlisted applicants must successfully complete a Highway Code written assessment and provide evidence of their qualifications before moving onto Stage 2 to undertake a driving and fitness assessment and an interview.

Please note that the tutor / lecturer delivered educational courses are mainly Monday to Friday and when completing operational shifts successful post holders will be required to work full rotational shift patterns including days, nights, weekends, bank holidays and public holidays.
