Find out what it takes to make it to the very top of PwC from the perspective of one of our female leaders. Gain insight into what we do day‑to‑day, by partnering with an associate who’s on our current training scheme and experience working life with us. Open to all, regardless of gender, this programme is to inspire and support students seeking an experience in professional services, and is part of our continued commitment to improve our female representation by showcasing some of our inspiring female leaders. The programme focuses on supporting you through our application process, developing skills and provides an insight into the opportunities available at PwC.

What you’ll do

During this three-day paid placement, you’ll work closely with a variety of people at all grades to learn what it's like to work at PwC, experiencing first hand the nature of the work that we do.

You’ll choose which office you'd like to come to and which area of the business you're interested in. You’ll spend time with lots of different people, from graduates to senior leaders, attending meetings and working with our clients and teams to get real exposure to our business. Our Women in Business programme is available nationally and the opportunities will be running over Easter and summer holidays (restrictions for some areas).

You should also have done plenty of research into the area of PwC you'd like to join. We strongly advise you to apply for the business area and office that interests you the most as any subsequent offers will be made for this area only.

In Risk Assurance, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a variety of clients and industries. You’ll be on the front line, working closely with clients to help them reduce their exposure to risk.

Business, Risk and Controls

In Risk Assurance: Business, Risk and Controls, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a variety of clients and industries.The world is becoming increasingly complex, technology is disrupting almost every aspect of how organisations operate and the pace of change is unprecedented.

Organisations have to be more aware of, and responsive to, the risks and opportunities facing them. Governance, risk and controls is a board level topic and offers a diverse and purposeful career. Should you continue onto the Summer Internship, or Graduate Business, Risk and Controls pathway you'll be deeply involved in understanding and assessing a client’s business processes, both operational and financial, and their IT environment, identifying and reviewing the risks and controls and providing recommendations to further enhance their design and operation.

What you’ll need

  • You’ll need to be on course for a 2.1 degree or above in any subject

  • We determine whether you're on course for a 2.1 based on the grades you achieved in your last completed year of academic study

  • You'll need to be in your penultimate year of an undergraduate or postgraduate degree; or

  • You'll need to be in your final year of an undergraduate degree with a one year postgraduate place confirmed.
