Service Design & Product Architect in United Kingdom

In the role of Service Design and Product Architect, you will work closely with our sales teams and CTO, liaising with our service delivery and project teams on the creation of service products and service designs for managed services.

Job description

You will be responsible for the production of service products, specifically the creation and maintenance of our service catalogue and definitions, along with the collateral required for responding to managed service RFI, RFP’s and tenders, including managed service calculators,  assisting with the bid process and responses. You will also support our marketing department in the creation of sales go to market material. You will work with our technical teams in creating the service definitions ensuring that the service delivery and operations teams can operationalize the products.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities: Essential duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Creation and Maintenance of the Service Catalogue

  • Creation and Maintenance of the Service Definitions

  • Managed Service Design and Pricing

  • Bid Construction

  • Liaising with the Operations and Transition teams in leading the development of an service product lifecycle management culture taking into account Service Strategy, Service Design, Service Transition, Service Operations and Continual Service Improvement across the various departments in the wider Cancom UK business.

  • Leading the introduction of service catalogue, service definitions and key service information needed to support our sales and marketing functions.

  • Gather functional requirements from technical teams to build the definitions and service run books, standard operating procedures.

  • Work with the Commercial team around the construction of contracts, legal terms and conditions.

  • Respond to RFI’s, RFP’s and General customer requests for managed services, including service design, service pricing and presentations.

Experience and skills:

 

Experience (essential):

  • Previous experience in a similar role

  • ITIL Qualified

  • Experience of managing ITIL processes across service towers, internally and externally

  • Experience at senior management level in a large, complex customer facing organisation

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing IT strategies to achieve transformational levels of change and efficiency

  • Experience of Managed Service Design and pricing.

  • Experience of service catalogue and service definition creation, marketing information, calculators.

  • Experience of presenting complex service designs to various audiences, internal and external.

  • Proficient in the use of MS Excel and Powerpoint and Word.

  • Creative and forward thinker.

 

Experience (desirable):

  • Advanced academic background, preferably to good degree level or equivalent

  • Proven commercial acumen

  • Good working knowledge of relevant functional systems

  • Experience in dealing with and influencing multi-tier management in various locations.

  • Ability to travel

 

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Articulate and a clear communicator

  • Be a customer and staff advocate

  • Have the ability to converse technical terms and definitions to non-technical personnel 

  • Meticulous with excellent attention to detail

  • Able to multitask and handle large amounts of complex information

  • Able to work under tight time lines and pressure.

 

 

Additional Information

Training Internal training on products and services will be provided. However, staff are expected to consistently keep abreast of new developments, which would impact on their areas of responsibility. Personal training in relation to this job description will be given as part of the company’s overall personnel development program.

 

Conditions of Employment Salary: The salary and benefits for this position will be determined according to the experience of the person appointed.

 

General Guidance: The nominal working week is 37.5 hours, although a degree of flexibility is both offered and expected. In specific circumstances there may be a requirement to work additional hours. Annual holidays are 24 days plus 7 statutory holidays.
