Salary: Competitive Role Overview Reporting to the Senior Buyer in Tooling, the Buyer is responsible for the full 360 supplier management process which includes, RFQs, contract negotiations, drive cost savings and building relationships. Other Responsibilities : Manage sourcing requirements as per business needs and deal with departmental heads to understand sourcing requirements Work alongside the Purchasing team to achieve the teams and companies strategic vision and targets Generate RFQ's, vendor selection and contract negotiations with potential/existing suppliers to ensure all aspects of the business requirements are covered Review, draft and negotiate contracts and service level agreements Regularly review the market to ensure that the company is utilising the best suppliers Manage suppliers, drive cost reduction and monitor/manage performance through regular reviews and KPI's Track spend, budget and make cost reductions where necessary without compromising on quality Identify areas of continuous improvement and suggest improvements where needed Assist in any other ad-hoc projects required by the management Experience Requirements: CIPS or studying towards Previous experience in a Tooling or Engineering Services purchasing role Other Requirements Strong organisational skills Excellent negotiation skills and strong with numbers Good interpersonal skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to work in a fast paced working environment Good computer skills using SAP, Microsoft Office Suite (including MS Project) Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a team environment Well organised with the ability to work effectively under pressure. Able to work well with others; build and maintain positive employee relations Able to maintain confidentiality, and use discretion and tact Able to manage and schedule multiple priorities and meet deadlines Honest with a high level of integrity Full driving licence Eligibility to work in the UK Travel: Must be willing to work extended or flexible hours as needed. Requires regular travel to customer and suppliers as required (UK, Europe and internationally) Although this is an office-based role, Plant conditions necessitate exposure to heat, cold, dust, hot objects, and loud noises within our manufacturing environment.
