Based in Telford, they provides IT support and consultancy on and off-premise to Business Clients in the Telford, Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth, Wolverhampton and ; Solutions include hardware, software licenses, network equipment and configuration, security and Telephony ; Vacancy overview: We wish to employ a skilled and enthusiastic individual who aspires to make a career from supporting IT to the small and medium business community. This is a full-time position of 37 hours / week offered as a 24-month apprenticeship with the successful candidate (one having the right capabilities and motivation) moving straight into a full time role at the end of the training. Our Client has ambitious growth plans making the potential for career development limited only by ambition and ; Main role and responsibilities: Work with clients to understand details of faults Resolving faults and explaining to the client the work you have carried out Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in person, remotely and via phone Fixing and maintaining equipment such as printers, laptops, PC's and tablets Assisting with system upgrades and setting up new devices Provide excellent customer service Identify the need for system and equipment updates To co-ordinate and provide prioritised technical support and advice to clients To assist in the design, implementation and configuration of IT systems at client sites To ensure adequate arrangements are in place for the security of data, systems and hardware To respond without delay to clients IT needs and issues To successfully complete relevant college training and demonstrate a commitment to continuous development To demonstrate a willingness to work flexibly sometimes outside of core hours, in response to service demands To manage time effectively and achieve targets and deadlines To maintain an awareness of new and innovative technologies To perform such other tasks as may reasonably be required by the company Directors Other Cyber duties will be discussed once you start the ; Desirable skills: Administration of Windows Server 2012 / 2016 including active directory and group policy Virtualisation technologies Windows 10 operating system, installation, configuration and fault diagnosis Installation, configuration and maintenance of Draytek and Zyxel network equipment (familiarity with other equipment from HP, Watchguard, Sonicwall, Cisco is equally acceptable) Understanding of operation and troubleshooting of Wide Area Network technologies (ADSL, Leased Line, FTTP, FTTC, EFM) Webservers and certificates Personal qualities: Communication Skills Self-motivated with a ‘get the job done’ attitude Technical Competency Great work ethic and flexible Skills in written, verbal and face to face communication with end users using appropriate language Problem diagnosis and solving in a methodical and organised way experience Practical experience of applying appropriate security to implemented technologies Ability to complete accurate and concise records of the work completed including the time taken Driving licence [as you may be required to travel to different locations] Self-motivated with a ‘get the job done’ attitude Desired qualifications: [having any of the following will be highly beneficial] A Level III IT apprenticeship at Distinction or Merit grade Demonstrable experience in Level 1 IT support for user devices, Microsoft servers, network switches / routers, Office 365 Minimum 12 months experience within an IT related role Future prospects: Career progression Increasing your earning potential Important Information: QA’s apprenticeships are funded by the Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), an executive agency of the Department for ; To be eligible for a Government funded apprenticeship you must have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 consecutive ;
