On a weekly basis, over 21,000 children (and growing!) are engaged in swimming and gymnastics activities through their programmes. Overview: Do you want to work with Olympic medal winners and household names in an exciting role where your talents will be appreciated and rewarded? Here you’ll have the opportunity to complete a Level 4 Business Analyst Apprenticeship. Main responsibilities: Conduct research into software applications to support with the development and purchasing of products and services Provide support for testing of new and existing software applications Field incoming problem tickets from end users to resolve application and software issues within servers, databases, and other mission-critical systems Document all end user identification information, including name, department, contact information, and nature of problem or issue Prioritize, schedule, and administer all instances where enhancements and defect resolution are required Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications Record, track, and document the problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions, and actions taken, through to final resolution Communicate application problems and issues to key stakeholders, including management, development teams, end users, and unit leaders Test fixes and perform follow-ups to ensure problems have been adequately resolved Maintain and enhance performance of all new and existing software and applications across the organization Participate in the design, development, and delivery of software applications training programs Post software updates and frequently asked question to assist in problem resolution Perform preventative maintenance, including the installation of service packs, patches, hot fixes, anti-virus software, and so on Apply diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting Identify and learn appropriate software applications used and supported by the organisation Desirable skills: Exceptionally organised, adhering to deadlines set. Strong written and verbal communication skills Practical and solutions minded approach to problem solving Methodical and thorough approach to work Good at prioritising and juggling tasks A desire to show initiative User of Microsoft office / Teams Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal Personal qualities: Excellent requirement gathering skills Good documentation skills The ability to communicate with technical stakeholders Problem solver Understanding of web development languages Understanding of cloud-based platforms Desired qualifications / Entry requirements: Business or Business related Degree Finance, Economics etc. OR One of the following plus 12 months industry related experience: An A Level in ICT An International Baccalaureate at Level 3 in ICT An Apprenticeship in a similar subject at a level lower than the planned programme A BTEC extended Diploma in IT (180 credits) OR Non Business related Degree + at least 12 months of work experience which could include but not limited to roles such as: Retail jobs – Sales Advisors, Team leaders, Customer Service Customer Service across any sector – Large or small organisations. HR function jobs Office Administration/Assistant/Trainee Any role that involves working in a team, processing data, face to face and email communications Examples of work experience that does not count on its own: Working in a Pub where the role only involves dispensing drinks and taking payment only Part time/limited hours of work done in the 6 months. Must be 6 months full time) OR 2+ years of experience within an office environment Future prospects: A full time role will be offered to the correct candidate on completion of an apprenticeship. Important Information: QA’s apprenticeships are funded by the Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), an executive agency of the Department for Education. To be eligible for a Government funded apprenticeship you must have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 consecutive years.
