We are looking for a Strategic Brand Manager to join our collaborative Brand team within the Marketing department. We’d love you to join us and play a part in our growing success story.

 
 What this role will be doing…
 

In our Marketing Manager - Own Brand role you will  support the Head of Brand & Design to lead and be the guardian of the Morrisons brand across Food, Household and Health & Beauty. You will be responsible for creating & setting the brand strategy & guidelines for our Own Brands. The role is critical to the success and development of our Own Brand business. You will be accountable for the following:


  • Strategic development, creation and delivery of brand plans 

  • Development of clear brand positioning – setting simple principles & guidelines 

  • Identifying growth areas and new opportunities for brand growth 

  • Understanding consumer segments, usage behaviours and macro trends and how these then translate into our brand plans 

  • Project managing strategic brand launches & any partnerships

  • Monitoring, evaluating & reporting on brand performance in order to support strategy  

  • Communicating the own brand strategy across the wider business & stakeholders to ensure they have a clear understanding of the brand plans

  • Being a brand ambassador both internally and externally

  • Driving the thinking with senior stakeholders on the planning, development and delivery of the activity to support future trends

  • Protecting and enhancing the reputation of our brands, ensuring consistent delivery of brand strategies/propositions across channel, customer and consumer touch points

  • Managing the existing brand portfolio to drive growth and maximise profitability 

  • Understanding the Commercial performance, P&L impact, and other financial analysis


About You
So that you are set for success, we are looking for a self-starter, who is an exceptional communicator with the ability to influence at all levels. You will work as part of a versatile team with a can-do culture, so it’s important that you are tenacious and committed to providing an outstanding service. You will also have:

  • Brand Strategy experience (preferably within retail)

  • Excellent written and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels

  • Strong commercial and analytical skills with the ability to interpret insight and data to commercialise opportunities 

  • Ability to prioritise and identify important areas, using judgment and instinct

  • Strong decision making skills

  • Ability to manage indirect reporting relationships with individuals/departments and to work within cross functional teams

  • Ability to influence others effectively

  • Attention to detail

  • Drive, tenacity and a passion for brands and products

  • Ability to shift thinking between long term strategy planning and day to day issues
