This role will focus on the following elements of the COO cost base:
•Reporting lead for Transaction Cycle Change the Bank (CTB) Spend
•Engagement lead for BUK Aligned TCs
You will partner with the individual Finance teams and the Finance leadership team, together with the COO BP&A team to support COO ExCo’s cost reporting requirements. You’ll drive both tactical and strategic improvements to reporting aligned to business requirements
•Reporting lead for COO Transaction Cycle Change the Bank spend
oManage existing portfolio and reporting of spend against targets/forecasts
oSupport new requirements around High Value Ops Reporting
•Play critical roles in adoption of standard process and system infrastructure across enterprise
•Partner with Global Tech FBP leads and act as single point of engagement with COO BP&A
•Provide Cost Board and Group forums with cost decision support for CTB spend
•Develop extensive knowledge of cost and strategy
•Develop a detailed understanding of the current cost processes and system workflows to ensure a full understanding of how costs flow into Barclays systems
•Educated to degree level or above, in a numeric / accountancy / finance related discipline and will hold an accountancy qualification e.g. CIMA, ACCA or ACA (or equivalent).
•Prior experience of working with the Finance Function in a large organisation with complex matrix and entity structures, and familiar with cost management, analysis and reporting roles
•Proven ability to work under pressure and manage tight timelines, whilst also being able to manage longer term deliverables, demonstrating ability to be both flexible and proactive
•Ability to respond to last minute ad-hoc urgent requests from senior stakeholders which requires the ability to quickly manage cross functional virtual teams to deliver to very tight deadlines (someone who can quickly think of the solution and get the pieces aligned to deliver)
•Strong team player; someone who will make a contribution to areas outside their remit and appreciates the bigger programme picture
•Prior management experience
•Advanced Excel/Powerpoint skills
