The TPE Macro Technology group support all of the Rates, Credit and Foreign Exchange businesses by providing Trade Capture, Processing and Reporting solutions. It is a global department with offices in London, New York, Pune, Singapore and many other countries.
The team has forged strong partnerships with the business and the infrastructure groups including: quantitative analysis, finance, operations, product control and risk management functions. The ethos of these teams is to create flexible, innovative, robust and well-engineered systems that are architected to support business growth and innovation.
The software development team is composed of developers, business analysts, project managers, programme managers and system testers.
What you’ll be doing?
BARX Trade Services (BTS) is the in-house FX trade booking and life-cycling system. Supporting the business globally, it has a range of upstream and downstream interfaces giving connectivity to internal and external systems handling (among others); risk, confirmations, settlements and regulatory reporting.
At any given time, there are multiple streams of work going on within BTS, so we are looking for a developer with significant experience who has worked across multiple projects and systems in their current or previous roles - preferably in banking (although candidates from other industries will also be considered). This person needs to be someone who is articulate, and can communicate technical solutions clearly to other developers and technical leads, as well as Project Managers. They should be keen to join a team that is expanding and delivering excellent technology solutions.
What we’re looking for:
·C++: Must have experience of writing multithreaded server applications on Windows using Visual Studio, however exceptional C++ Linux programmers looking to gain Windows experience will be considered.
·Experience of source-code repository systems and multi-branched development.
·Must have worked on multi-tier service oriented enterprise systems using messaging for inter service communication and request/response/broadcast to the GUI.
·XML : XML Document Processing, XSD, XSLT
·Excellent communication skills, able to quickly and simply explain complex technical issues and designs to stakeholders across technology and the business.
Skills that will help you in the role:
·Oracle Database Development: PL/SQL, ability to write stored procedures, triggers, Toad.
·Middleware: Experience of using middleware messaging components such as Tibco, Talarian, Solace or MQ.
·Java Swing
·C++: Linux development experience
·C++: Boost
·C++: Unit Testing & Mock Objects
·Any experience with other programming languages (C++, Java, Python)
·An understanding of FX derivatives products and trading flows (e.g. clearing, e-trading STP).
·Degree level education in a scientific, engineering, mathematical or IT field desirable not essential.
