Being a Domestic/House Keeping Assistant at Care UK
Domestic Assistants at Care UK come from all walks of life. They may or may not have worked in a care home before, it is more important to us that they want to be part of a caring, positive team with a strong attention to detail. Domestic Assistants do more than just clean and do laundry. They improve the lives of the residents we care for with the ability to bring a smile to our residents and their relatives. They go the extra mile to make sure a precious possession is cared for, and are a great team player in order to deliver excellent service. They have very high personal standards, and are fulfilled in the difference they make every day.
What you’ll be doing
Being a Domestic Assistant at Care UK means you’ll be in a rewarding role and supportive workplace where we all pull together. You’ll carry out all cleaning duties including communal areas, resident’s rooms and en-suites to a high standard. You’ll also have the opportunity to do some paperwork and re-stocking cleaning supplies as required. You’ll ensure we comply with infection control guidelines as well as respecting the privacy and individual needs of our residents, making the home as enjoyable as possible is a very important role at Care UK.
What you’ll need
You’ll have experience as a cleaner and this can be from any background. What is most important is that you understand what it means to be caring, and want to make a difference as the result of the work you undertake. You’ll have good communication skills and you’ll understand the importance of ensuring that the home is kept clean and welcoming for our residents, as well as families and visitors, at all times. Above all, you have a natural ability to help make the lives of others more fulfilling and want to work in an environment where this is made fun and rewarding.

The dedicated and experienced team in our purpose-built care home in Ascot, Berkshire, offers a range of care options for older people, including residential, nursing and respite care including for people living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
Being an established care home, Larkland House has developed a great reputation for delivering the highest standards of care.
Flexibility is important – in caring for older people and in supporting their families and carers. We are very happy to care for people on a short term basis, giving their carers a break so they can enjoy a holiday or just have some time to themselves. Short term care may also be a useful solution if a person is recovering from a stay in hospital and needs more intensive support than their family carers feel they can provide.
There’s lots of space at Larkland House. All our bedrooms are lovely and big and residents are welcome to add their own personal touches to their rooms. We’re even open to people bringing small pets with them.
We’ve recently opened a brand new nursing dementia floor with 14 spacious and beautifully decorated rooms for older people living with dementia. All the rooms are en-suite and have lots of space for relaxing.
Larkland House care home also has beautiful gardens, including a secure area where residents can help out with some gardening if they like, or simply sit and enjoy a cup of tea in the fresh air. We’re in a great semi-rural location but still conveniently close to all of the shops and amenities of Ascot high street.
