Job description


As an Associate within our Financial Institutions Group (FIG) you will be part of a team partnering with various divisions throughout the firm in order to best serve the needs of FIG clients globally. FIG Coverage is separated into several different areas based on client type, including Banks, Specialty Finance, Insurance, Financial Technology and Asset Management. FIG Coverage is also part of the wider FIG business (FIG Coverage, Global Finance, Fixed Income and Equities).  

This role is deemed as a Certified role under the PRA & UK Financial Conduct Authority - Individual Accountabilities Regulations and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks.


You will be performing financial analysis, strategic business analysis and detailed industry research in relation to clients of the FIG division

Undertaking company valuations and detailed financial modelling to support client propositions

Preparing presentations for client meetings, marketing presentations, information memoranda, management presentations and other transaction documentation

Providing support to senior bankers in developing and maintaining client relationships, income streams or new business opportunities


A strong academic background (a minimum of Bachelors degree) in a Banking or Finance related subject

Proven relevant Financial Institutions Group M&A Advisory experience obtained in a bulge bracket investment bank

Excellent technical skills, including both financial analysis, modelling and valuation techniques, ideally obtained via a graduate programme in a bulge bracket investment bank 

Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, particularly MS Excel and financial modelling (including DCF/DDM and LBO)


Master’s Degree / MBA in a relevant Banking or Financial subject

The ability to communicate fluently in multiple European languages
