Contract Manager in United Kingdom

The Contract Manager is responsible for managing all contracts that Novosco/CANCOM UK is negotiating and entering. Contract Managers need to be knowledgeable about the details and benefits of contracts, as well as potential disadvantages.

Job description

Main Duties and Responsibilities: Essential duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

  • Understanding existing contractual relationships becoming familiar with master agreements and associated schedules

  • Crafting appropriate contract change notes and supervising their progress to signature

  • Liaising with areas of the business affecting by contract changes

  • Monitoring legislation and assessing its impact on existing contracts in place

  • Writing, evaluating, negotiating and executing various contracts with key subcontractors and suppliers into the master agreements, covering a range of transactions

  • Liaising with external legal representation when required

  • Creating and maintaining relationships with suppliers and customers

  • Facilitating regular contract and commercial review updates presenting pending CCN positions, changes in law, commercial impacts

  • Maintaining master obligation matrixes and reporting on same

  • Communicating and presenting information to stakeholders regarding contracts

  • Monitoring contracts and moving forward with close-out, extension or renewal of contracts

  • Problem-solving contract-related issues

Experience and skills:

 

Experience (essential):

 

  • Previous experience within a Contracts manager role

  • Previous experience working as a Contract Manager on multi £m contacts

  • Effective communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail, and talent for accuracy and precision

  • Deep understanding of contracts, contract governance, contractual language and the contract lifecycle

  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to research and understand legal and financial implications

  • Superior reading, writing and language skills

  • Excellent understanding of the business or industry, its services, customers and providers

 

Experience (desirable):

  • Previous experience working within the IT industry

  • Exposure to public sector contract regulations

  • Experience within NHS sector and management of OJEU framework contracts

 

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Articulate and a clear communicator

  • Excellent negotiating skills

  • Be a customer advocate

  • Have the ability to converse technical terms and definitions to non-technical personnel

  • Meticulous with excellent attention to detail

  • Able to multitask and handle large amounts of complex information

  • Ability to work independently and take decisions where necessary.

  • Successful delivery against commitments and deadlines.

  • Promotes and supports standardisation and continuous improvement

 

Additional Information

 

Training Internal training on products and services will be provided. However, staff are expected to consistently keep abreast of new developments, which would impact on their areas of responsibility. Personal training in relation to this job description will be given as part of the company’s overall personnel development program.

 

Conditions of Employment Salary: The salary and benefits for this position will be determined according to the experience of the person appointed.

 

General Guidance: The nominal working week is 37.5 hours, although a degree of flexibility is both offered and expected. In specific circumstances there may be a requirement to work additional hours. Annual holidays are 24 days plus 7 statutory holidays.
