What can you expect from the role?

The QA Tester  position is a team role responsible for effective participation in the successful execution of Elemental’s software strategy.  Working alongside a team of developers and IT specialists, the QA Tester will work closely with the Elemental’s Product and Development Teams; in order to deliver software and IT services that meet user needs.

The QA Tester  will be accountable for the creation and delivery of the testing strategy, inclusive of delivery of high level test schedules, test estimates, test cases and test data for assigned projects.  

 

Location: United Kingdom or Republic of Ireland

 

Key Responsibilities:

As a software tester you will be working alongside a team of developers, testers, product owners and the product manager. This role will involve:

  • Hands on functional testing of core product function against requirements throughout the entire project life cycle

  • Delivery of high level test schedules, test estimates, test cases and test data for assigned projects

  • Responsibility for test execution and reporting to Lead Developer 

  • Bug management, incorporating triage meetings, status reporting, bug categorisation/prioritisation and issue escalation

  • Assist in reporting, investigating and debugging software issues in coordination with support and development

  • Provide support for production environment release validation and production bug troubleshooting

  • Integration of product knowledge from testers, developers and product managers into the testing process

  • Continuously contribute to improvement of the company’s quality processes and procedures

 

Essential Criteria:

  • Relevant 3rd Level qualification

  • Professional accreditation in QA testing 

  • Must have a proven track record in all facets of testing within a technically challenging development environment

  • Must be a self starter with the ability to learn and understand complex systems quickly

  • Will need to be a good team player and have the ability to work autonomously with a minimum of supervision

  • Candidate must have good experience of working within project teams on large test initiatives

  • Must have experience of software development lifecycles, including Agile and knowledge of QA principles and methodologies

  • Demonstrated experience in isolating and reproducing issues at a component level with clear documentation to support findings

  • Experience in bug management, including triage meetings, bug categorisation and prioritisation, issue escalation and status reporting

  • Prior experience in using issue tracking tools 

  • Experience of UAT testing in conjunction with third party test and project teams

  • Working knowledge of XML and Google Suite 

  • The candidate must have strong numeracy and analytical skills for effective problem solving

  • Confidence in holding test documentation reviews with project teams and obtaining sign off

  • Ability to understand business system at architectural\component level and liaise with development teams

  • Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to grasp issues quickly and make educated, critical judgement

  • Being able to work under pressure and tight deadlines is a must

 

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience of using automation testing tools such as Selenium. 

    • Experience writing automation tests for native iOS and Android applications in Java

    • Prior experience in using JIRA as an issue tracking tools 

    • ISTQB Foundation or Intermediate

    • Experience of working within public, community and voluntary sector partnerships

    • An interest in health innovation

 

Salary

Salary Range: £23,000 – £28,000 Per Annum
