Remote Marketing Internship Opportunity at The Local Way

Are you passionate about travelling, learning about new cultures and discover the tracks off-the-beaten paths? Do you have an interest for social media, content marketing and the universe of digital marketing and learning about the start-up world? If yes, then this internship opportunity at The Local Way, a start-up matching travellers with locals to create a new style of responsible travel, is for you!

What are you going to do:

The Local Way is an early stage start-up on its way to the market. We match travellers and locals based on common interests and characteristic, enabling travellers to have better & real experiences and discovering the soul of their destination while allowing local communities to access the benefits from global tourism. You would be joining us at the beginning of our journey, and therefore will have the opportunity to get involved and leave your mark on the company, making lasting impact and have a meaningful contribution.

We are looking for a creative Social Media & Marketing Intern to join our team. This is an exciting and varied role which will suit someone who is passionate about travelling and creating engaging marketing content. You would be working directly with the founder.

Social Media & Marketing Intern Job Responsibilities (included but are not limited to):

  • Developing The Local Way’s social media accounts and increasing brand awareness through posting relevant content and engaging the community.
  • Brainstorms campaign ideas.
  • Developing and integrating content marketing strategies
  • Researching topics and writing blog posts.
  • Monitor various social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest.
  • Analyzes analytics to gauge the success of campaigns.
  • Understands the overall concept of the company, including the brand, customer, product goals, and all other aspects of service.
  • Reaches out to potential locals to join the community and engage online community.
  • Provide suggestions to management for improving customer experience on social platforms and internal processes.
  • Assist with organising online events.

Who we are looking for?

You are an excellent communicator, out-of-the-box thinker and passionate content creator who is eager to translate your university knowledge into real life experience. We are expecting you to be well-organised and have a great command of written and verbal English. Knowledge of current and emerging social media platforms and trends as well as a passion for writing is a huge benefit as well as competence with graphic design.
