VP - Capital & Strategic Risk Management in Northampton

Job description

The Capital & Strategic Risk Management team is responsible for managing the credit risk of a number of retail products in Germany and UK market.

You will be primarily focus on leading the credit risk regulatory transfer for a number of retail products, namely definition of default updates, CRD IV model self-assessments, and capital data review.

• Support Retail Credit Risk’s input to CROs from Germany Portfolio and Barclays Business Service. Co-lead and Monthly BAU process to calculate and comments on the risk parameters change. Deep dive analysis on key findings. 
• Support the development and credit risk models.
• Interact with key stakeholders which include Modelling Analyst team from NYC, IT & data based in London, internal control and ERRP project team. 
• Face off to business area SMEs, understanding high level requirements and challenging, where necessary.
• Perform complex numerical analytical projects, model / PMA development in SAS

• Expert level knowledge of credit risk regulations, such as CRD IV and IFRS9
• Experience in SQL and SAS
• Credit risk / impairment or forecast modelling
• Understanding of retail credit risk metrics and/or experience in a risk management role or other control function.

• Degree in Finance, Maths, Sciences, Engineering or Economics or substantial directly related experience
• Good written and verbal skills, a strong governance and challenging mentality and good attention to detail
• Confident, clear and articulate, with the ability to engage with staff at all levels, including the Chief Risk Officer and his direct reports
• Understanding / experience of risk model build
