Job description

Group Stress Testing Technology is responsible for the delivery of regulatory Stress Testing capabilities for the Bank.  This responsibility covers the Prudential Regulatory Authority (PRA) annual cyclical and biennial exploratory stress tests, their quarterly SPOT submissions of actuals and the European Banking Authority (EBA) biennial stress test.  Group-wide stress testing is required to be performed as specified in the banks Risk Policy, in line with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF), with minimum requirements set out in the Stress Testing Standard. The process is led by the Orchestration and Governance (O&G) team that sit within Finance. They coordinate the process across all businesses and relevant functions, in collaboration with stress test leads in each business/function. O&G is a part of the Planning and Stress Testing (P&ST) team that also include Analytics and Systems Team.


• Analyse new requirements to find the most appropriate technical solution and

  contribute to the overall system design
• Take responsibility and ownership of new feature development
• Document designs and communicate them with the team(s)
• Work on all aspects of analysis, design, implementation and deployment of all

  software, related to the core data applications
• Focus on good code quality and high test coverage and actively participate in

  code reviews
• Design and implement applications and data flows, for accuracy, timeliness,

  quality and control.
• Contribute to the delivery of complex projects in collaboration with global

  teams across Barclays, to develop new or enhance existing systems
• Setup and manage development meetings with application leads and business

  unit users


• Expertise in ETL tools
• Experience on Hadoop implementation with Abinitio along with experience in

  Hive, Impala and spark
• Strong Core Java skills and working knowledge of Spring framework like

  Batch.
• Expertise in Unix and shell scripting

• Core Java
• Experience in Advance Abinitio Tools like BRE, MHub etc
• Python Scripting
• Understanding of Big Data Technologies, Cloudera, Spark
