We are building a modern cloud-based data infrastructure in AWS. We assembled a team of experienced engineers and we started ingesting data from legacy systems to develop a central repository and trusted logical data entites to support all our reporting, analytics and machine learning needs. The next step in our evolution is the demise of legacy systems and developing in-house stream-based systems. These streams need to be processed and collected for near-real-time reporting, analytics and decision-making. You will join the Data Engineering team with a focus on the stream processing and work alongside experienced engineers in this effort.

• Kafka Schema evolution in Kafka using Apache Avro
• Notion of confluent ecosystem: schema registry, replicator, burrow, KSQL, Rest Proxy
• Zookeeper and its relationship with Kafka
• Understanding partitions, connector offsets, connector tasks
• Experience with a streaming technology, Kafka-streams, Akka Streams or Spark
• Scala
• Essential distributed computing and architecture principles
• Undergraduate degree in CS, IT, or related fields
• Professional experience in a comparable role
