Post 1: Full Time

Post 2: 21 Hours/week

This exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 5 Staff Nurses to work in the innovating speciality of Interventional Radiology at both the RVI and Freeman hospitals. You will be joining an enthusiastic and dynamic team of nurses assisting with complex and minimally invasive procedures performed using image guidance for patients from many specialities including vascular, oncology, hepatobiliary, gastro-enterology.

Your role will include:

Ensuring patient safety, acting as a circulating nurse, monitoring and supporting the patient, administering sedation and procedural analgesia as required.

Working as a scrub nurse assisting consultants with procedures.

Working as a mentor to student nurses

Working in a multi-disciplinary team with radiographers and radiologists

The ideal candidate will be a first level registered nurse, experience in interventional radiology or theatres would be an advantage but is not essential. Willingness to undertake training and act as a student mentor is essential.

The successful applicant would after training take part in an on call rota and therefore a driving licence and access to a car is essential.
