Are you looking to challenge yourself, develop new skills and kick-start your career into health and social care?

Are you considering a career within health and social care, but are unsure which specific pathway to take?

Do you have a passion for people and want to be at the forefront of providing first class care to vulnerable adults?

If so, the Joined Up Careers health and social care apprenticeship is for you!

Joined Up Careers is a partnership of local health and social care organisations across Derbyshire including Chesterfield Royal Hospital, University Hospitals of Derby and Burton, Derbyshire County Council, Derby City Council, Derbyshire Community Health Service, Derbyshire Healthcare Foundation Trust, DHU (111 service and A&E streaming service) and the private, voluntary and independent sector. All organisations are joining together to support the existing and future workforce through innovative programmes such as this.

With 6 positions available, we’re seeking passionate, committed and people-centred individuals to join our team.

Our apprenticeship is like no other – you will complete 5 placements within different health and social care settings including in a care home, acute hospital, mental health and in the community. You will be exposed to all aspects of working within health and social care; from supporting adults with learning disabilities, to assisting post-operative patients on a busy hospital ward, to supporting individuals during their final hours – we’re looking for individuals who are willing to push themselves and embrace the varied and fantastic opportunities the apprenticeship offers.

The apprenticeship is full-time with shift patterns varying per placement. The ability to travel to and work from different health and social care venues across Derbyshire is essential due to the rotational nature of the apprenticeship. Apprentices will be employed by Derbyshire Community Health Services (DCHS) for the duration of the programme.

If you’d like to find out more about the programme before submitting your application, please contact Abi at abigail.ingram@nhs.net to arrange an informal chat.
