As a result of growth, we are looking for a qualified Accountant to join our Finance team, located at our Head Office in Thornbury, Bradford. The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant, ideally practice trained, with excellent attention to detail and well-developed communication and interpersonal abilities. As part of our finance team, supporting a FTSE 100 business, there are a variety of roles available, from our commercial roles to our technical group finance roles. Above all, you’ll work closely with the business, influence decisions and support exciting projects.

What this role will be doing…
Our Accountant role supports the delivery of company-wide transactions and processes, supporting the overall strategic objectives of the Finance Department, always keeping the end customer in mind. Responsibilities include:
Identifying financial risks and opportunities for departments, allowing the business to respond on a timely basis.
Retaining a customer focus
Participating in projects based on providing expertise and support for improving business processes and procedures.
Developing and maintaining relationships with stores and internal stakeholders, to understand and meet their needs.
Consulting with stakeholders across the business to understand requirements and identify opportunities to speed up and simplify.
Producing budgets for key financial metrics.
Inputting into financial processes in line with controls and risk appetite.
Understanding the environment and implications of changes
Providing variance analysis and trending techniques to measure performance against budget, forecasts and business cases.
Supporting a continuous improvement culture focusing on service, costs, cash flow by contributing in joint problem solving.
Generating ideas for improvement and drive through to delivery.
Producing periodic forecasts to enable stakeholders to understand the implications of current spend behaviours on the full year.
So that you are set for success, we are looking for a self-starter, who is a strong communicator with the ability to influence at all levels. You will work as part of a versatile team with a can-do culture, so it’s important that you are tenacious and committed. You will also have:
Accounting qualification/certificate (CIMA / ACCA / ACA or equivalent)
Experienced of working in an accounting/finance environment in a similarly large business
Attention to detail with ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload to meet agreed deadlines
Stakeholder relationship management skills (both internal and external)
