We have an opportunity for a G Grade Scrub Charge Nurse (Team Leader) to join our Theatres Department based at The London Clinic’s main hospital in Central London, W1G (Close to Regents Park & Baker Street tube stations).

Our main hospital spans 8 floors comprising of 234 beds and 10 theatres, including a Hybrid theatre and two minimally invasive and day surgery theatres. Job Description

To provide advanced knowledge, skills, leadership and line management for the department, across specialities where required, indirectly and directly supervising the senior staff nurses, staff nurses and health care practitioners within your specialities.

Job Type

This is a full time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week (mixed shifts including earlies and lates, as well as weekends and on-call)

Salary

The attractive salary range for this role is £44,085 - £53,157 (inclusive of London Weighting & COLA) and will be dependent upon skills and experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure preparation, checking and maintenance of surgical equipment as per guidelines before and after procedures.
  • Ensure the operating room temperature complies with the operating room guidelines, prior to patient use.
  • Understand and recognise legal implications and competence levels regarding the dual role and that of the First Assistant to the Surgeon, acting according to Clinic policy
  • Ensure that surgeons’ preference cards are accurate and current.
  • Anticipate the consultant surgeon’s requirements before and during the procedure.
  • Monitor stock levels with the stores and purchasing department.

Skills & Experience

  • RGN Level 1 with ODP Level 3 & ENB Theatre Course
  • 8 years post graduate experience in operating theatres
  • Advanced Speciality Knowledge
  • Evidence of current practice
  • Able to lead a multi-disciplinary team, providing a competency based training programme.
