Bank Staff Nurse - COVID-19 in London

Job description

West London NHS Trust is one of the most diverse providers of NHS mental and physical care in the UK. We are rated ‘good’ by the Care Quality Commission and ‘outstanding’ for caring and our forensic services.

We are here to care for people with mental and physical illness, helping them to recover and go on to lead full and productive lives. We aim to be the best organisation of our kind in the country.

We provide care and treatment for children, adults and older people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow, delivering services in the community (at home, in GP surgeries, care homes), hospital, specialist clinics and forensic (secure) units.

Our physical healthcare services include intermediate care services in Ealing as part of the Community Independence Service partnership.

Our national, specialist and forensic services include:

  • Medium secure services on the St Bernard’s Hospital site in Ealing
  • Services for people with complex and severe personality disorder at the Cassel Hospital in Richmond
  • High secure services at Broadmoor Hospital in Berkshire

We are a teaching Trust with a growing research portfolio, working with academic and industry partners.

Our 3400 staff are dedicated to improving lives, working with patients, service users, carers, families and partners across the communities we serve.

We need enthusiastic and capable Band 5 Staff Nurses to join our Bank team and help us to provide the highest quality care to meet the therapeutic needs of our patients.
Working as a Bank nurse is a highly flexible option which pays significantly more than the rate for London agency nurses, so you’re better off joining the WLNHST team.

You will work as a key member of the nursing team and wider multi-disciplinary team. As part of the job, you’ll be expected to support, coordinate and supervise the practice of junior staff and student nurses.
Patient involvement and coproduction are fundamental to our approach and you will be closely involved in developing recovery care pathways and ensuring that patients always have a strong voice and that their needs remain at the heart of everything we do.

Benefits and career development
We will provide you with first class supervision and mentorship, with the opportunity for personal professional development and further opportunities for career development.
We are also actively recruiting for permanent Band 5 nurses across the trust.
If you are shortlisted, you will be invited to an assessment and interview day. If you are successful, we will make you a job offer on the same day.
