Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, you willsupport the service indelivering structured activities and assisting in the planning forindividual and group interventions. You will build one-to-one rapports with service users to encourageparticipation in activities and empower recovery.

As an Occupational Therapist Assistant, you will contribute to the assessment, monitoring, evaluation, and modification of structured activities in order to measure progression and ensure effectiveness.

Role - Part-Time Occupational Therapist Assistant

Location - Caversham, Reading, Berkshire, RG4 5LE

Salary - Competitive + Benefits

Hours - 22.5, Part-Time

This role involves:

  • To assist Occupational Therapists, Primary Nurses and other MDT staff in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individual care plans.
  • To work with individuals to facilitate access and engagement in a range of activities.
  • To ensure that service users understand and are assisted to engage in pathways of care across sector/agency boundaries.
  • To work with service users to achieve their identified goals and access appropriate services.
  • To actively contribute to the development of the Integrated Groupwork Programme.
  • To maintain adequate records as required by existing procedures, entering appropriate details in the service user healthcare records.

To be successful in this role:

  • GCSE/O-Levels (A-C) or a relevant NVQ2.
  • Previous experience gained within a relevant healthcare environment.
  • Must have adequate literacy and numeracy skills for short reports and completing administration tasks for the department/service.
  • To have the ability to work with and engage service users in a range of activities.
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent understanding on mental health.

Join the team at Rosebank House providing specialist care and support for people with severe and enduring mental health conditions. You will be working at a modern and purpose-built home with 13 en-suite bedrooms.

The focus of Rosebank House is on independent living skills and social inclusion, education and employment engagement. There are close links with the local community for residents to access local college, work placements and amenities.
