Graduate Consulting Strategy& London 2021

Job description

Our Consulting practice is focused on results, supporting our clients with fast track, profitable growth. We use our understanding of how business works and a knowledge of how the right technology in the right place can create competitive advantage.

Our clients might want us to help them enter new markets; address the challenges created by organisational change; or draw up a sustainability strategy that aligns their commercial objectives with broader environmental and social concerns. Our clients range from household names across a diverse range of industries, everyone from big-name broadcasters and high-street banks, to multinational telecoms operators and energy companies.

You’ll get to work closely with the best in industry, finance and government in the UK and abroad, bringing fresh insights and motivation to the problems they face.

Strategy& is our Strategy Consulting practice. You’ll work on interesting and varied assignments – from helping a company identify attractive new markets, advising a private equity client on game‑changing investments, to supporting industry leaders solve their toughest corporate and mergers and acquisitions challenges.

We organise ourselves in two market-winning teams – Corporate Strategy and Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Strategy. We work together to bring the best to our clients, and we offer a unique, powerful, and distinctive combination of capabilities that allows us to develop and deliver world-class strategies.

As a graduate you’ll be aligned to one of our two teams, but occasionally you’ll experience working in both as we often resource projects together, providing you the opportunity to transfer your skills across our Strategy& practice.

Our graduate training programme is underpinned by a development framework that broadens and deepens your knowledge. You'll learn from hands-on coaching and an outstanding variety of work, picking up business, personal and technical skills you can use across the network, and throughout your career.

What you'll do

As an Associate you’ll work with your team to create new approaches to difficult problems, bringing a new perspective compared to your seniors. Depending on the project, you may be required to develop and deliver presentations, analyse large quantities of data, conduct interviews with subject matter experts, or more. Every day will bring about new opportunities and challenges, and no two projects are the same.

What you'll gain

Our graduate programme offers an invaluable experience, with structured training and a real focus on your personal development. You will have the opportunity to work with senior clients in some of the world’s largest organisations, building out your core strategy skill set in different business scenarios. Our priority is to help you develop your consulting tool kit and set you up for success.

What you'll need

We are looking for the Strategists of the Future. We seek candidates who are passionate about solving business problems, proactive, and have the potential to learn and grow within our firm.

Specifically, you will need:

  • To have or be on course for a 2.1 degree or above in any subject. We determine whether you're on course for a 2.1 based on the grades you achieved in your last completed year of academic study
  • Relevant work experience and/or internships, demonstrating transferable skills to consulting
  • Leadership roles and extracurricular activities such as voluntary work, sporting attainment, musical accomplishment and entrepreneurial interests
  • Effectiveness in the use of computer tools, e.g. Excel and PowerPoint are desirable
  • Business-level fluency in English.
