About the role

Tesco Maintenance are currently looking to recruit a Automation Assurance Engineering Manager. At Tesco, our distribution centres, stores and offices couldn’t function without the support of our Maintenance Team. This role is an integral part of this team, leading a team to deliver exceptional service to customer across the wider business.

You will be responsible for
  • Assurance of all Automation Capital Projects, New business Complexity Modernisation and Asset upgrades. 
  • Develop / verify specifications produced by others for Factory (FAT) and Site (SAT) Acceptance Tests, 
  • Test on Completion and Performance Tests.
  • Approve / produce technical specifications for modernisation and upgrade paths for automated systems
  • Support technical input to capital business cases based on solution design and life cycle plans. 
  • Support line manager with suppliers and procurement to ensure best value solutions and costs 
  • Work with multi-parties on handover and end user requirements 
  • Operational Improvement on new install/upgraded assets 
  • Delivering excellence in PLC, WCS and control protocols. 
  • Delivery of Project Safety standards and PUWER 
  • Support on existing sites with Operational Improvement 
  • Work with contractors on Design Standard improvements 
You will need

Proven background and experience in delivery of project assurance in complex automation projects.
Requires excellent competencies in PLC, WCS and control protocols. Working knowledge of BS EN12001 and BS EN13857. Competent in reading technical mechanical and electrical drawings. 
Qualified to degree level in an engineering discipline or equivalent qualification and experience.
