Apprenticeship Opportunity:

Contract: Fixed Term minimum 18 months

Salary Range: £10,855 - £18,750

As part of its continuing development the Trust wishes to appoint 3 x apprentices to the position of Apprentice Materials Management Officer. This is a challenging role requiring procurement and logistics expertise to support the expansion of the materials management service and the introduction of a GS1 complaint inventory management system.

The successful candidate will work closely with clinical, finance and procurement colleagues across the Trust and be responsible for all aspects of stock management in their designated ward and department. The materials management service is also responsible for obtaining maximum possible benefits from expenditure against goods, seeking ‘best value’, reliability, responsiveness and innovation from suppliers and stakeholders.

Applicants must possess strong IT skills procurement and be willing and eager to learn.

As an apprentice you will be trained in the full range of our office procedures. You will enjoy using a computer, meeting with and helping others and have a desire to provide a high standard of customer service. You must be able to prioritise your own work to meet deadlines, have the ability to follow instructions and have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. You will be confident, have a mature and flexible approach, be a good time keeper and have the ability to work unsupervised to ensure the effective coordination of duties.

You will be released for study and supported to achieve a framework of nationally recognised qualifications. Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants should have minimum of 2 GCSEs A* – C or level 2 Functional Skills in English and maths (or equivalent)

Applicants are not eligible to apply if they have previously completed a Level 2 or 3 Customer Service qualification.

Applicants who have previously completed a Level 2 or 3 Business Administration qualification will need to have a qualification unit check at interview to ensure they are eligible to do this apprenticeship.
