The focus here is taking time to get things right – from the warmth of the welcome, to the thoroughness of the eye examination. Literally at the heart of the store, you’ll be a key ambassador for the business, so you’ll need to be someone who is at ease engaging with people. You’ll take real pride in the quality of your work and treat every customer as an individual.
As you’d expect you’ll spend most of your day working closely with customers, testing eyes, fitting contact lenses and delivering the standards of service and expertise that sets us apart. You’ll be a key part of the handover to the retail team, making the best recommendations for the customer’s needs whether that be spectacles or contact lenses.
However, you’ll see far more than just the examination room. As a key part of our business, you’ll work closely with the Manager to build a successful team to deliver an unrivalled customer experience. This means encouraging best practice and the very highest standards at all times.
Working closely with customers you’ll also be required to make medical referrals where appropriate.
The team around you will support you every step of the way - and as you’re a specialist, they’ll also look to you for support and advice. You can expect a busy but highly professional culture where everyone’s working towards the same goal: providing a truly expert and individual service for every customer, leaving them looking and feeling great. Needless to say, we’ll support you with your development and opportunities for long-term potential.
So what do you need?
• Be able to lead by example, especially in terms of customer care and professional standards
• Have a strong commitment to teamwork and supporting others to learn
• Be commercially aware, with ideas of how to help shape business performance and drive sales performance
• Be fully qualified and GOC registered
• Ideally registered with The College of Optometrists
If you’re looking for a professional environment with plenty of customer interaction then this is the perfect place for you.
