This will be Blis’ 3rd time when we participate in the STEM work experience program with Workfinder to support female students at the beginning of their journey into a career in tech industries. Workfinder organises such programs once or twice a year - the October one is a tribute to Ada Lovelace Day that happens on October 13th, which is an international celebration of the achievements of women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Insight at Blis is about viewing our data in the wider context of behaviour.
Behaviour currently has two relatively recent themes impacting heavily upon it: Health and Finance - both owing largely to COVID-19.
We're already deep in the worst economic crisis in hundreds of years. Industries are suffering, shape-shifting, and while some survive and thrive, others are going under, or morphing into an unrecognisable version of their former selves.
Consumers meanwhile - cautious though the majority are - still want to shop and socialise. This is how we're wired.
Their natural behaviour has been artificially restricted by Government measures, and for some their spending power blunted by uncertainty around employment. The lead into the end of the year will be very interesting.
