Proof of Concept Build Project Internship @ Octopus Energy - WFH

Octopus Energy are proud to be supporting Women in Tech this October in celebration of Ada Lovelace Day on the 13th of the month. In partnership with Workfinder, we're honouring Ada Lovelace, one of computer science's true pioneers, by offering work placements designed to help more young women discover meaningful careers in tech.

Octopus Energy is a challenger energy supplier looking to make a big green dent in the energy market. We're passionate about great customer service, innovative technology and (of course) green energy. Sustainable energy is not just about reducing our energy use or being more efficient. It's important to consider when we use energy – so we can make the most of it when the sun is shining, or the wind is blowing, and use less of it when it's being produced from fossil fuels.

We’ve got customers on some industry-first tariffs like AgileOctopus and OctopusGo. With AgileOctopus, the greenest energy is also the cheapest so helping customers to shift their usage – and letting them know when they got it to spot on – will mean less renewable energy goes to waste, and lower carbon emissions for everyone.

So we want to give some aspiring developers free rein to come up with new concepts for our energy usage page. 

You'll have a GraphQL API to work with, support from some incredible tech team members, and access to our knowledgeable energy specialists who spend every day talking to our customers. We'll give you a React app to work with as a base, but you can use whatever technology you like to create prototypes.
