Junior Project Manager in Manchester

Position Overview:The Junior Project Manager’s role is to own the delivery of assigned business projects to agreed scope, time, cost and quality, in accordance with Global Data project management methodologies and governance processes.The Junior PM is generally assigned to work with a sponsor during the initiation phase of a project, and will help clarify the scope, define and document the budget requirements, business case, timelines and resource needs in order to gain project approval. Subsequently, the PM will manage all phases of a project through to completion.The Junior Project Manager will work with peers, stakeholders, suppliers, Business Analysts, broader IT delivery teams, marketing, sales, PMO and the business to ensure a successful delivery.The Junior PM is responsible for highlighting and managing risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle, working with the sponsor to drive resolution and mitigation.The Junior Project Manager will also have a role in supporting improvements which can be made across the information technology departmentEssential Job Functions: * Manage all phases of a project from initiation through to completion including project close down and handover in to business as usual. * Deliver all assigned projects to agreed scope, time, cost and quality. * Develop project business cases, resource and timeline plans and budgets for assigned projects. * Manage internal or third party project resources to ensure that they are working effectively to deliver project outcomes. * Manage and mitigate project risks and issues to reduce impacts on delivery. * Follow Global Data governance processes to ensure adequate project management documentation, reporting and plans are in place. * Support the creation, maintenance and improvement of project management processes, procedures and tools, and provide guidance on best use of project management disciplines and approaches in order to build a strong change function. * Provide support to peers, managers, sponsors and project staff, when needed in order to ensure project success and build stronger delivery capabilities. * Other duties may be assigned.Qualifications and Experience: * Minimum of 5 years’ experience working as a Project Manager, Business Change or Transformation Manager * Strong understanding of the challenges faced by a global business, able to understand analysis and risks in this business context. * Expert in delivering projects in an international environment with multiple stakeholders. * Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with project management systems, including MS Project.
