The Role

The purpose of this role is to work alongside the regional team, supporting both the Divisional Director of Retail and a team of Regional Business Managers in a varied HR generalist capacity. You will be hands-on with the credibility and gravitas to succeed in a fast-moving commercial environment.

Reporting to the Senior HR Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in delivering the people agenda and retail plan within your specific Division. You will work closely with the HR Shared Service team in order to maintain consistent credible people management practices throughout your Division and alignment to the retail business.

 

  • You'll be able to coach and develop Regional Business Managers and Store Managers within all aspects of people management and drive performance and behaviour to increase return on investment to the Division.
  • You'll be able to support and implement key HR Projects alongside the Senior HR Team, using quantifiable data for employment relations cases and cascade information to field management teams.
  • You'll work with your field management team to devise and deliver HR workshops to up skill your store management teams.
  • You'll provide tangible, credible advice to field management and colleagues within your Division ensuring the dissemination of best practice and compliance with company process.
  • You'll ensure live ER cases are managed within KPI's prioritising meetings within the Division offering support and consistency across the Division and retail estate to minimalise any risks to the business.

You'll be able to complete weekly activity reports detailing all HR activity and updates on projects being undertaken, supporting and project leading where necessary on key HR initiatives.

The Person
  • You'll have experience of working within a HR field retail team.
  • You will have a proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and people managers.
  • You'll have strong technical ER grounding, which may encompass experience of the following areas; disciplinary action around capability and conduct, grievances, appeals, absence and performance management.
  • You'll have a good understanding of employment law and how that applies to policies and processes.
  • You'll need sound knowledge, understanding and practical application of employment law and HR practices in the UK & Ireland. Preferably CIPD qualified, you will have a confident and creative approach to HR and will thrive on the challenge of providing pragmatic HR advice, guidance and coaching to a variety of stakeholders.
  • You'll need the aptitude to work autonomously which is essential, alongside the resilience to deliver under pressure with pace in a fast-changing environment.
  • You'll need to be creative and literate, able to produce a high standard of written work including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint & Word alongside the ability to quickly learn new operating systems.
  • You'll be based within easy commuting distance to the North of England or willing to relocate. Able to travel across and work within your Division for meetings as a minimum of 4 days per week
