We have a new and exciting opportunity to train as a pharmacy technician funded by Health Education England. Pharmacy technicians undertake a wide range of duties including dispensing and accuracy checking of prescribed items, medicines reconciliation, aseptic preparation, providing information to patients and other healthcare professionals, procurement and issue of medicines.

This is an innovative two-year apprenticeship, working on a rotational basis in GP Practices, Community Pharmacy and Hospital pharmacy. There are two full-time positions available at Yeovil District Hospital.

Each post-holder will work with three of the partnership organisations

Symphony Healthcare Services, Yeovil District Hospital, Taunton Central Primary Care Network, CLICK Primary Care Network, Day Lewis Pharmacy, Superdrug Pharmacy, Somerset NHS Foundation Trust - Mental Health and Community Health Services, and Musgrove Park Hospital.

Entry requirements for this post are a minimum of 4 GCSE’s at grade C or equivalent to include English, Maths and 2 science subjects.

You will be required to bring evidence of academic qualifications to interview.

Training will be carried out through Bradford College distance learning on a day release basis. You will study for a level 3 diploma in principles and practice for pharmacy technicians.

This is a full time post and may include some weekend working.

Salary - £ 16,909 increasing to £18,117 in the 2nd year (Annex U band 4)
