We are looking for a General Adult Consultant Psychiatrist to work on our new acute general adult unit at Farmfield Hospital.
Farmfield Hospital is an 80 bed service comprising a 52 bed secure unit with both MSU and LSU wards and two x 14 bed general adult wards. The hospital is purpose-built and is centrally located with excellent transport links to London and Brighton.
As a full-time Consultant Psychiatrist you will provide medical leadership and function as an active member of the multi-disciplinary team. The Consultant will take on RC responsibility for service users in both General Adult wards at Farmfield. The RC will have the support of a non-consultant grade doctor as well as secretarial support.
Duties include having RC responsibilities for around 10 service users, leading a MDT, coordinating and chairing ICRs, CPAs, professionals meetings, presenting evidence at MHRTs and Managers hearings, entering notes onto our electronic notes system and keeping dashboards up to date, covering the other consultant whilst they are away, keeping up to date with mandatory training and attending relevant hospital wide meetings.
To be successful you will have excellent communication skills (both verbally and written) and the ability to build effective relationships with service users, colleagues and other professionals. Good IT skills are essential.
