Part-time Finance Manager (charity) in Sheffield

4 - 40 hours per week

Job description

Sue Ross Recruitment are working with a local charity in the recruitment of a Part-time Finance Manager.This is a permanent, part time position, working 29.6 hours per week.The Finance Manager will oversee financial reporting, projections, and annual accounts for the charity. The postholder will manage a small team and will be expected to be engaged in the running of the finance support service on a day to day basis, including close liaison with the HR Team to support the development of the payroll system and processes. The postholder will report directly in the CEO and the Trustee Board, and support the cost-effective delivery of multiple contracts.Key responsibilities include:• Maintain highly accurate and up to date accounts and financial records.• Manage and develop internal financial monitoring.• Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts to SMT and budget holders.• Deliver projections for grant applications and oversee expenditure.• Monitor staff allocations and other expenditure on grant projects.• Manage and mitigate financial risks to the charity.• Lead the Finance Team, carrying out all line management responsibilities.• Work with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to produce an annual budget, financial projections and business plan for the charity and its various programmes.• Produce individual project budgets or templates as required.• Monitor corporate financial performance and key risks on an ongoing basis.• Oversee the production of Monthly Financial and management accounts and other reports as needed and present these at Audit Committee and Board meetings.• Oversee the management of creditors, debtors and supplier relationships.• Manage the annual accounts and audit process with the external accountants, dealing with audit queries.• Ensure timely compliance with all Charity Commission reporting requirements including Trustee report, SoFA and other required returns.• Maintain, develop and manage comprehensive systems of financial management and control to cover all operations grant-funded projects.• Develop robust procedures around procurement and asset management, ensure their delivery by the Finance Team.• Oversee all aspects of the organisation’s cash flow, including cashflow forecasts and banking needs and processes as required.Applicants must have experience in the following:Be a qualified accountant with membership of a recognised accounting body (CIMA or ACCA)Experience/skills/ specialist knowledge:• Production and Analysis of budgets, including cashflow forecast• Financial forecasting and business plans• Computerised finance package, ideally Access Dimensions• Excel• Budget Management• Gift Aid &Tax ReliefUnfortunately due to the number of applications we receive, we are unable to provide individual feedback to all applicants.
