This is an exciting opportunity to work in well regarded and progressive school which specialises in teaching students who require additional support and have had difficulty in engaging in mainstream education.The school is totally focussed on providing an inclusive education with an alternative curriculum to meet the needs of the students. The school supports pupils from Key Stage 3 and 4.The school environment is fast paced with a commitment towards empathy and compassion to ensure their students receive the best education possible and removing barriers to their progress.The role is to start immediately and after an initial probationary period will become permanent.The successful candidate will have experience of working in a similar educational setting with a passion and desire to make a difference.As a Student Engagement Mentor, you will develop and foster appropriate skills and social abilities to enable the optimum development of pupils, according to age, ability and aptitude. You will help the teacher to prepare students for examinations, link pupils' knowledge to earlier learning and develop ways to encourage it further and challenge and inspire students to help them deepen their knowledge and understanding.The successful candidate will be able to build fast relationships with students and support them to develop their personal and social skills whilst empowering them to fulfil their potential through a series of bespoke interventions.If you would like an informal chat about the position, then call us on (phone number removed).
