The Digital Team are responsible for monetising our core digital platforms as well as offering multi-platform digital marketing solutions for clients, by operating as an integrated in-house digital and creative agency called Bauer Create.

Our services include website design and development, social media management, PPC, SEO, animation, video production and video amplification.

We deal with a large roster of clients from across Scotland, and work alongside our Creative and Branded Content colleagues in Bauer Create and our Sales Teams from brief-take, to pitch and execution.

The Focus of the role

As a Commercial Web Developer your primary focus will include front end website design, development of bespoke WordPress templates as well as hosting and domain management. You will also be responsible for working with our digital marketing platform Cheetah Experiences to produce advanced branded content campaigns.

Main Responsibilities

Our clients are absolutely central to everything we do. As a Commercial Web Developer, you'll be a key part of developing our business, both by attracting and winning new clients, and by developing our existing client portfolio. You'll be responsible for:

  • Front end and back-end WordPress development.
  • Brief take of website requirements.
  • Presenting designs to clients.
  • Maintain and update existing websites.
  • Domain and server management.

Person Specification

What you will bring:

Our ideal candidate will be a skilled and experienced website designer who has excellent design skills and a thorough knowledge of WordPress in order to create contemporary and functional websites for our clients.

  • Proven work experience as a WordPress Developer.
  • Expert knowledge of HTML / CSS / jQuery / PHP / JavaScript.
  • Good understanding of website security.
  • The ability to create bespoke WordPress Themes.
  • The ability to manage a busy workload in a time-pressured environment.
  • Great team working skills, and the ability to support others in the team as needed.
  • Confidence in your interpersonal skills.

Desirable Skills:

  • Photoshop / Illustrator.
  • Shopify / WooCommerce
  • SEO (on-page optimisation)
