Head of Application Delivery SF32813 Location: Devonport, Plymouth

About the role Here at Babcock International we're looking to recruit a Head of Application Delivery

You'll lead, motivate and manage a team responsible for driving and supporting Marine & Naval Nuclear wide business success through the delivery of agreed applications throughout the project lifecycle whilst driving continuous improvements, value for money and lowest overall cost of ownership. The scope of the team covers everything from the Design & Engineering applications (PLM/PDM), through ERP, Project & Programme Management to through life In-Service Fleet and Asset Management. You will be joining a team of high achieving leaders that bring energy and a strong contribution to everything they do. The role has a strong focus on how we build partnerships with our customer, providing engagement at various levels, whilst delivering IT needs across the sector. The department has a clear focus on customer service & provides a professional service to all users. The wealth of experience across the team enables us to deliver activities across the business spanning projects & programmes, change enhancements, support. How we do that, with a strong customer focus, is important - providing support on critical processes & activities, supporting our customer through process evolution enabled through IT solutions and playing significant roles in major programmes across the sector.

With teams based in multiple locations across the UK, we are looking for you to deliver a joined up, consistent service across the Marine sector.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Lead, plan, develop, deliver and operate flawlessly a set of products, applications, solutions and services that support the Marine & Naval Nuclear
  • Define and realise our strategy, product roadmaps and objectives through the delivery of the team vision and in particular focus on application rationalisation and total cost of ownership
  • Drive transformational leadership in the team to ensure a fit for purpose organisation, roles, skills and capability to support our growing customer needs and remove risk and single points of knowledge
  • Lead, inspire and build a high performing team, fostering motivation, coaching, and empowerment, integration of employees as well as team learning and development and create an environment of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Be a champion and drive changes in our customer engagement model - encompassing how we interact with our business at a support and operational level

What do I need to do the role?

  • Would also like you to have experience in all or some of the following:
  • You'll need to be Degree qualified in a quantitative subject or extensive senior experience including detailed knowledge of business processes, applications and strategic vision.Highly effective at building and leading high performing distributed teams of over 40.
  • Expert in application management, COTs solutions and strategy
  • Strong ability to manage 3rd party COTS technical relationships
  • Strong understanding of the metrics associated with a problem or situation, their significance and relationship, and being able to navigate the necessary to identify solutions.
  • Able to work with and influence at senior levels within and across organisation boundaries.
