Due to being awarded a framework valued at £300M over the next five years a tier 1 civil engineering contractor are seeking to recruit a Design and Technical Delivery Manager in East Sussex.
The role will be to deliver engineering solutions at a programme level from initial conception through pioneering, solution development, detail design and construction.
The company have healthy forward order books across all their business units and are currently responsible for the delivery of major Rail, Road and Infrastructure projects across the UK.
The Role
Reporting to the Process Engineering Manager responsibilities will include:
Ensuring affordable design solutions are developed within project budget and solution risk is appropriately managed and communicated
Establishing collaborative working relationships with the client, design teams, construction staff and supply chain
Providing design solutions that meet all the requirements of the programme’s systems and governance procedures
Ensuring that standard designs and design practices are utilised wherever possible
Recording, monitoring design changes in order to maximise cost efficiency
Agreeing design costs and programme timescales with the Programme Manager
Preparation of monthly project status reports
Experience Required
Suitable applicants will be educated to degree level in Civil Engineering or related discipline and must have previous experience leading a design team within a design and build environment.
Experience working in the water industry is essential, ideally in the design and delivery of waste water treatment projects.
